Sound Editing

Please, does anyone know programs for editing sound under Linux?
I don't need a highly professional stuff (if it exists, please, do tell me). What I need is to open raw wav files recorded with DAT, and edit the sound: fade in/out, acoustics, cut, paste, balance etc. Thanks.

the program you are after is either sweep or audacity

both are wav editors

Hey, i found TAON - the art of noise - at linux-sound.org
I installed it and was nicely surprised. It is probably not the greatest thing, but it makes cuts, fade in/out, acoustics, zooming etc etc etc. Pretty much like SoundForge.

linux-sound.org - have a look. A lot of stuff.
