Sound drivers aren't in rc.modules

I recentlly installed Slackware 8, and I haven't been able to get any sound. The card is onboard and an ESS Solo PCI card. I checked the /etc/rc.d/rc.modules file to see if the module was in there for my sound card, but it wasn't. The only ESS listed was for a Monstro (sp?). It told me to check /usr/src/linux/Documentation/sound/ for more info on how to get the sound card to work, which is all fine and dandy. Except for the fact that there is no /usr/src/linux/Documentation/sound/. It stops at the linux directory.

Could someone help me by pointing me in the right direction with what I've got to do? Is there anyway for it to auto-detect my sound card with Slackware?

Thanks in advance,
Oooska.

Try doing "modprobe esssolo1". if that works you can add the line "/sbin/modprobe esssolo1" to /etc/rc.d/rc.modules.
