Sound Driver for Ubuntu 10.10

I have not got any sound in Ubuntu 10.10 my sound card is a Realtek HIGH Definition sound card ALC260, I have a HP c5750 Microtower Dual Core processor. I have two hard drives installed one with Windows 7 and the other is Linux running Ubuntu 10.10. I know the speakers work because I have sound using Windows but no sound with Linux except from the internal speaker in the computer. Is there away to get sound using my Linux drive, I am a newbie and if possible can you please talk me through the process of installing a sound driver.
