sound detection in Fedora Core 3

I am using fedora core 3 and i usually use KDE. My problem is that my sound card is not detected automatically by the computer. Everytime i have to run "Sound Detection" to detect my sound card. How can this problem be fixed.

Okay, maybe help us out by telling us what sound card you actually have. Run "lspci" as root and paste the output back here, as this will show your sound card. Also, you could check the HCL on this site yourself and see if other members have got this working, and if so, if there were any special instructions for configuring it.
