No sound when I go to a web site with audio, however am able to record in Audacity. I am absolutely brand new to this OS and I have no windows so do not remember sound card type. This is a Toshiba L675D Any help appreciated and hope I do not have to delete it because it seems great OS

Code:
lshw
shows you hardware
Can you listen to other sounds that are not from the browser? try to open some file.
P.S. Once I installed mint on my neighbour's notebook(cuz wanted some system being linux but do not frightened her - she was a "blonde" in PC's )... that system lived only a few hours-despite she liked it but since that I almost hate that distro... I would not say that it's so great anyway...
