sound card problem in red hat 8
I have a problem with the drivers of my sound card in red hat 8, the "new hardware detection wizard" detects the sound card, it doesnīt gave me an error message, so when I log into kde and go to hardware list, I saw that one of the driver of my sound card is in the "unknown device" list, I think it is the reason why I donīt have any sound. So, I tried to run the "sound card autodetect" and It tolds me that "no sound card detected", I tried to run "sndconfig" but it doesnīt run.
So, I donīt have any idea how to resolve this problem. what do you think? |
type 'cat /proc/pci' at a command prompt to determine what type of soundcard / chipset you have and go from there to google and find out how to set up that soundcard.
