sound card problem

when i try to configure my soundcard on suse, i get the following msg:

an error occured during the installation of
VT8233/A/8235 AC97 Audio Controller
the kernel module snd-via82xx for sound support could not be loaded. this can be caused by incocrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters

whats wrong? how can i fix this? i've never had this issue with suse before, but this time when i reinstalled my system, the sound car doesnt work...

Check the output of dmesg for information about the sound module. It might give you a more useful/detailed error message... (it should be near the end)
