Sound Card Issue?

Ok first of all this is what I have.

Intel P4 2.0GHz.......1GB Ram.....DVD-ROM.....CD-RW......Sound Blaster Live 5.1......NVidia GeForce 2 64MB......Logitech Z-3 2.1 Speakers

Distro: Fedora Core 3

I guess that is enough of what I have.

Here's my problem with sound. Everytime I start into the OS it requires me to do the sound card detection utility to get audio. Is there a way to save it? It gets a little annoying to have to do this every time I boot up. This is not a major problem but I would like to not have to do it every time.

Thanks all!

if you use alsa, you could try
# alsactl store
then to load the saved settings:
# alsactl restore
cheers
