Welcome to LQ :)

Possibly turn on DMA on your CDROM device? See 'man hdparm' for more info, search the boards, and if you can't find anything from those 2 things, feel free to post back, but basically, as root you should type something similar to:
/sbin/hdparm -d1 /dev/hdx
Where /dev/hdx is the CDROM device. You will need to have hdparm installed if you didn't get it during the install.

:)

Cool

Thanks for help but what does my problem have to do with cd-rom?
my box can play audio cd normally
my problem is with mp3. i listen mp3s very slowly i mean the first second of the song plays in 5 seconds can you imagine how it is?
and thanks for welcome :P

and I also tried the solution you gave me. my box says
root@127:~# /sbin/hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc
-bash: /sbin/hdparm: No such file or directory
root@127:~#

Ah, I see, I mis-interpreted your problem to be a slow AudioCD ;) As far as your hdparm command, it looks like it's not install then (or is in another location) if you'd like you can install it.

Ok, so now I'm not sure what the problem is, does the song actually move real slow like it's in slow-motion, or does it play normal speed, but takes 5 seconds before you hear a sound, then 5 seconds more before you hear another?

Cool

slow-motion one is the only thing I can say. It plays continously but in slow motion

Hmm, do you have a decent CPU? Have you tried different sound options (in xmms)? What sound card do you have? (Post up the following (by opening up a terminal and as root typing):
lspci -v
So we can see things about your system.

Anything "odd" with your hardware you might wanna tell us?

:)

Cool
