Something Wrong with Eterm

I installed originally Eterm with a source tarball and everything seem fine, and sure everything worked, exept the background stuff, for example I couldn't make it transparent or change any background image, it was just black. I deleted all the Eterm files I found and tried to install with teh rpm but the rpm says its already install but there is no eterm anymore, what can I do? Thanks.
