Of course you need to give lots of more info if you want some response...

2. Which distro you use ? Which window-manager (kde, gnome,....) ?
3. Which distro you use ? Which window-manager (kde, gnome,....) ?
4. Which distro you use ? Which window-manager (kde, gnome,....) ? What do you want to change font to ?

1. Not knowing anything about your system, I'll tell you to edit /etc/bashrc and play with the value of $PS1
As always, backup the file first and keep more than a console open just in case something goes wrong in one of them. To try the modified prompt you'll need to exit the console and open it again.
I.E.:

My prompt looks like:

pablob /etc$

and it's obtained with:

PS1="\u \$PWD\\$

being:
\u the username
\$PWD the actual directory
\\$ , just the $ prompt separator.

2. usually right-click on icon, and choose properties. You may have to move your new icons to a specific folder like /usr/share/icons
