Some questions about WinXP dual-booting.
Do I need to install Windows XP first if I want an Ubuntu/WinXP dual-boot system?
Do I just reformat, create a 15gb partition and a 95gb partition, then install WinXP onto 15gb and Ubuntu onto 95, and that's that? What else do I need to do? Thanks. |
you wanna install windows first...so repartition...install windows on the 15 gig partition which will be c: then you can go in and install linux on the remaining...for some reason windows is a selfish brat that likes to go first...

The main reason to install Windows first is because it automatically overwrites the MBR, thus erasing LILO/GRUB
You can install it second, but it's a complex process, and much easier to install Win first. |
I just got another IDE drive and installed Linux on it.
The IDE is my first HDD and the WinXP SATA is the second HDD. Mandrake automatically configured LILO and so I have the option of booting into XP (only as long as I am a Linux N00b :) ) |
