Some File Can't Be Deleted,Please Help


Hello everyone, On of my site have been hacked by some hacker ,and he upload an index.html, No matter what I do ,such as ,chmod ,modify, delete file , This file would reappear again , Have anyone met this situation before? What should I do to solve this problem . Thanks for your help

Here is some very very general advice.
  • Remove the server from production, and off of your network. Air gap it and console in locally with a boot disk.
  • Its good to root-cause the issue to find the attack vector, so that you may patch the problem on your NEW installation/server.
  • Bring up a new installation/new server with patches etc... Do NOT try to patch and clean this compromised one.

If you need specifics on how to root cause the attack, you can always head to the Security Forum here at LQ. UnSpawn and the others are *very* knowledgable about attacks and intrusions. This isn't a 'newbie' question!
