Hi. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 on my Dell Latitude D610 notebook. There are two applications specifically that crash my X Windows system. They are the OpenGL games Tremulous and Wolfenestein. Is there a documented history of trouble with OpenGL games and my Ubuntu configuration? The computer has the Intel integrated 910GL graphics chip, and 3D acceleration is enabled. AIGLX is activated by default, and is working properly, as I have Compiz Fusion up and running. I have checked to see if the error is with Compiz, and it is not. I have turned off Compiz, and my X window system is still crashed when I attempt to start the game.

I can post my xorg.conf if necessary, but does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

Search on google for "beryl+opengl+games". It seems like some people using Ubuntu based distros have problems with beryl/compiz and opengl games.

I did some perusing of the google search you provided, and it does seem as though other people are having problems. However, none of them say that OpenGL games are causing their X system to crash. For the most part, they say they cannot play fullscreen. One person was unable to start WoW, but his was an XGL issue, not an AIGLX issue. I'll keep reading, but if anyone has any other ideas on how I might fix this, it would be really appreciated.
