Red face solution for input/output error while copying from cd to linux

hi,

i have got an error while cp from a cd to linux error is input/output error. i have seen this thread in linux questions.org but i couldn't find any solution for this thread.

pls post me the solution immediately if possible......

very very urgent ........

The problem is most likely due to a scratch or smudge on the CD. Was the IO error on the CD device or the hard drive?

Might help you get faster assistance if you cut and paste the error message here so that they can see what is happening
