Solaris 9 for x86 systems
I know, I know. Not really a linux question, but...
I may be getting a job which would require me to learn Solaris. I would like to get a rather cheap Dell Optiplex GX1 with a Pentium 3 and install the x86 version of Solaris 9 so I could get my feet wet at home ahead of time. Does anyone know what the pricing/licensing deal is for the x86 version of Solaris? Is anyone aware of academic deals form Sun? I am a student at SUNY IT and I work at Hamilton College. The job would be for academic work at Hamilton. If anyone would qualify for an academic discount, I'm pretty sure that I would. While we're at it, does anyone know about academic discounts from SuSE or Mandrake or Redhat? |

Searching google is such a horrible chore. is there a reason you didnt post this in the Solaris forum? http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...?s=&forumid=20 |
