Unhappy Softwares as packages

HI All, I am Sikander, I am newbie to linux and would like to ask if linux does has all packages kind of setup files, when you try to install any softwares, it asks you to download dependencies.

Wish, if this could be resolved by adding only the mandatory dependencies as a complete file, so that users never have to look for the dependecies to download and install.

Hi,

users should almost never manually download packages to install. Instead they should use the package manager that comes with their distribution - this will automatically resolve dependencies. Are you having a problem installing a specific piece of software? If so please tell us what you want to install and what Linux distro and version you are using.

The following site might help you adjust to using Linux. http://linux.oneandoneis2.org/LNW.htm

Cheers,

Evo2.

Most of the main distributions have advanced package managers that include dependency resolution. Enter the name of a package, and if it has dependencies the package manager will tell you and ask if you want to continue.
