Software Update authorization no longer valid after upgrading from Fedora 13 to 14

I recently upgraded from Fedora 13 to Fedora 14. Now, when I run the Software Update graphical utility, I am getting an authorization failure. I tried using yum update from a command line after issue the SU command and it seemed to work.

I would much prefer to use the graphical utility but can't figure out how to give myself permission for this.

I also noticed that my graphical shutdown utility is now disabled (grayed out).

Thanks in advance for any help in resolving this.

try using
Code:
yum history
And then
Code:
yum history info #
where # is the ID for the time you ran yum update from the command line and it seemed to work.

What happened ?

in fedora the terminal is and HAS always been the best and preferred method

yumex or package kit "sort of / kind of / maybe " work but not well

using "su -" to start yum as root is and has been the best way

yumex vs command

Thanks for the advice - I will use command going forward.

However, I'd still like to figure out why this stopped working all of the sudden.

the upgrade maybe ?
to check how many fedora 13 rpms are still installed
yumex can NOT DO THIS
in the terminal
Code:
rpm -qa | grep fc13
if that list is longer that 3 to 6 fedora 13 rpms ( the normal amount)
install the yum-utilities plugin and use the --orphans option
see "yum-utilities --help "

then uninstall the remaining
