software raid rip off

I have tried to build the raid arrays countless times from white papers I found and have not succeeded one time. From this error(the kernel was unable to reread the partition table /dev/mdo (invalid augment). This means Linux won’t know anything about the modifications you made until you reboot) now to I/0 errors and I can not proceed. This is the second server I have tried to load which has good working drives. I can not be the only person not able to build and format the arrays.

Right now I am at the end of my rope and ready to go postal.

Can some one here put me in the direction of yet another set of instructions to help me partition these three identical drives?

if you're rebuilding servers from scratch, then just let the installer build it for you. I think all the decent installers will let you build a few different versions of raid in a couple of clicks.

I think this is one of the more comprehensive tutorials:
http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Software-RAID-HOWTO.html
Have you tried it ?
