Soft Raid Install Suse

Hi,
I run Suse 9.1 and I now have a second hard drive. I want to install RAID 1, but I am not sure if I have to back up my data and install everything again or just change the partion type of my first hard drive (hda) from Linux Native(0x83 Linux) to 0xFD Linux RAID. The YAST messages are not very clear.
I do not run anything else on the machine (e.g. Windows).

Thanks
