I want to create Social Network Software. What are the specifications required for using Linux as server.

Linux has got plenty of server programs available. Apache server can be used to run PHP. Ruby on rails is another alternative. If you are interested in python, try Django which is a web framework works on top of Apache.

It is possible that the OP is asking about the hardware specification that is needed for this. If so, the question is probably unanswerable with this level of detail (how many users, how much traffic, what software?). On the other hand, maybe the OP is asking which software should be used, but again, more detail of what the site would do would be required.

No, he's not actually asking. He's (was) looking for an excuse to point
out his own website, which happens to be about social networking.
