snort install using easyids

hello!

I'm new to linux. I wanted to install snort the easiest way in my centos box. I found easyids very simple to install. However when I accessed easyids on a remote computer, I found no alerts logged. I tried to generate traffic using idswakeup and other scanning tools but still no alerts logged. I have two nics on my box eth0 with IP address while eth1 has no ip address. Please help me.

Any errors from what you are trying to run? Is snort running? Verify by running this command to see whether it starts successfully.

cat /var/log/syslog | grep snort
