snd_via82xxx. Kernel 2.6.6 modprobe/alsaconf errors.

Ok after hunting google for about 3 hours i give up trying to find the answer.. Ive both compiled the module for this through the Kernel, and through Alsa.. Neither way can i get this to work. So fat alsaconf recognises the card but when installing throws up lots of errors. DMesg throughs up loads of errors like this...

Quote:
snd_via82xx: Unknown symbol snd_mpu401_uart_interrupt
snd_via82xx: Unknown symbol snd_ac97_get_short_name
snd_via82xx: Unknown symbol snd_pcm_suspend_all
snd_via82xx: Unknown symbol snd_pcm_hw_constraint_integer
snd_via82xx: Unknown symbol snd_mpu401_uart_new
snd_via82xx: Unknown symbol snd_pcm_period_elapsed
snd_via82xx: Unknown symbol snd_ac97_tune_hardware
and modprobe snd throws up aload of errors like this...

Quote:
FATAL: Error inserting snd (/lib/modules/2.6.6/kernel/sound/acore/snd.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
Theres more when i modprove snd_via82xx. But i didnt wanna bore you guys

IF any one can help id be greatly apreciated. Got USB and Network card to work so far on my own dont wanna give in to the sound card

P.s this works on the old 2.4 series kernels..

I think you can fix it by compiling your driver with the same version gcc as your kernel was compiled with. That solved the error for me all the time. Don't know why it is that way or that I accidentaly changed something that made it work though
