SMTP and POP3 Proxy

Is there any tools that provide proxy service for SMTP and POP3?
I knew Squid provide http & ftp proxy. Is there any plugin that do SMTP & POP3 proxy in Squid?

I try searching the archive. Found that, someone mention to use iptable to enable the routing from client (win 98/2000/xp) through my linux box to the isp. I am a linux novice, can you gurus out there show me the ways. Thanks in advance.

My plan is to set up a linux to box to provide http/ftp/smtp/pop3 proxy for my internal user to the isp. Previously i was using Ms. Proxy server which provide web proxy and winsock proxy to provide the above mentioned services.

wzk@quioetsche-entchen.de (Wolfgang Zekoll) have made a very beautiful suite of proxy servers. i am using them and have no problems
