Smoothwall

Hello all,

Im using smoothwall version 1.0. I'm not sure if most people are familar with this distro. It basically a firewall built on redhat 7.3. Anyway I would like to throttle the internet speed through the firewall from a designated IP address. OR. I would like to set a download limit for them. Can it be done or do I need to use another distro? As far as I know smoothie uses ipchains and not the latter iptables if that helps anyone.

Thanks everyone. :)

You can add rules etc to this system,
but there are no development tools included in the distro.

The beta versions are 2.4 kernel based and use iptables.

Have a look at http://www.quarkav.com/SmoothWallGPL/index.php for a collection of tools and suggestions.

The throttling feature is only included in the Commercial version.
