SMB Client
Hands up - I'm a complete noob here at Linux. I've installed a Fedora Core 3 system on my Dell Lattitude C640.
The problem I have is that I can't seem to figure out how to connect to my Win2003 (Active Directory) server. I've tried stuff like: smbclient -U sn0rg -I 192.1689.0.2 -k I'm just not getting anywhere - errors (from memory) are like NT_STATUS_OK (??) and authentication error types too. I'd consider myself a Windows expert (I'm a Win Technical Architect by trade) so its nothing as daft as a wrong password. Any one?? |

Are you in a workgroup or have you already specified it in smb.conf? |
Lol - I thought that might look a bit dry "on screen".... Point taken...
1) Am I in a Workgroup? A Linux workgroup? No. Didn't know such a thing existed. I'm trying to connect to the Win2003 Domain Controller which has the file shares on. 2) Specified in the SMB.comnf file Huh? Theres a conf file? :p Thats why I'm in the noob section I guess.. So I draw from that that I can script this stuff in a boot (or logon) time maybe? That's be cool - pointers to SMB specific resources welcomed... Cheers sn0rg |
