smart boot manager and linux

hi all.. ive got an old laptop that has got a BIOS password on it there for i cant boot from CD.. ive been looking around and been using smart boot manager to try and boot from the CD.. when it boots into sbm and i select the cd rom and press enter it comes up with save settings then shows "disk error! 0XAA"

any ideas on how i can get it to boot from CD? is it because its got a password on it thats stopping it from working?
