Smaller windows
In KDE (Slackware) the windows are very big, the windows goes out of the screen. The rest of the is right size, the only problem is the windows. Anyone know how to change the default / standard window size?

Change your resolution and edit so your not using virtual type screens, where the desktop area is larger than actual screen.
Simply edit by typing xf86config and pay attention to the questions, it will ask if you want virtual screens or not, say no. |
if you're not sure where to find the file, you can always type: "xf86config" in console, you'll be asked there...

Well, I did all the xf86config stuff, screwed up my computer and reinnstalled Slackware. I never got the question about virtual screen. I looked at the Control panel and virtual detoskop was diabled. What should I do now?

yeah, maybe it messed up your computer because you don't really know what too choose.. maybe you set your horiz synch and vert synch not good... or something like that. you can't screw up your computer by misconfiguring your computer. you just had to run xf86config again and change some stuff..
for graphics card, if your card is not in the list use VESA. that is what i used to do wrong :S |
I am hosting the xf86config file here.
