Slow Network

I'm running Red Hat release 2.6.9-5.EL on Epox 8rda nforce2 2 MB with xp2500 cpu 512MB RAM. Access is through a router/cable modem. Ifconfig indicates eth0 is up and being assigned an address. I can ping various URLs but web surfing is very slow. Ifconfig indicates RX packet errors. For example RX packets:364 errors:33. I have disabled IPv6 and tried KDE desktop based on other posts.

hmmm it could be a number of things really. I'd start by using the Network GUI tool that Redhat provides to reconfigure all of the nic settings. You may also want to try plugging into a different port on your router. Those would be the first two steps I'd try in order to try and solve the problem.
