slow motion graphics on fedora


hello.
i just installed the java plugins on fedora and went to yahoo games to tested out. most of the games seemed to be in slow motion when comparing to a windows system.
my pc is P4 1.6 GHs with 1 G of ram and 40Gs HD.
can anybody help? how do i measure the speed of my pc in gereral? and how could i tell that its running smothely?

undo what you did and install the j2re rpm packages from Dag.
