Slak, Usb mouse, myself and i dont know

Ive decided to leave windows and a friend is showing me linux, in his oppinion slakware 8.1 (i think) is good so we've installed it but one problem is i have a usb mouse and it dont work, ive read in a message i got when i installed that i have to do something to the file /etc/rc.d/rc.modules but i have no idea. (acutally i have no idea about linux) + how do i play the games?

A bit of searching and .... http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/36854
as for games - hmmm linux isn't much of a gamer platform but try your luck with winex (I'll let you search yourself now) - as I understand you want to play Win32 games.

To start, your kernel should have USB support compiled in. There's a good kernel compiling guide on top of the Slackware forum here.

On a sidenote, I downloaded and installed Slackware 9. My USB mouse (Logitech Cordless Optical Mouseman) worked right from the login prompt... So you might want to try Slack9 instead since your system is practically a virgin (ie. I assume you don't have many important things installed yet).
