Is slackware better than Suse 10.1?

Is a pig better than a cow?

Sorry about that... Slackware will teach you more whereas Suse will run a good desktop out of the box without having to configure much.

I'm not completely sure if you are new to Linux, but if you are here is my advice.

I'm a newbie and I prefer Slackware (although I never used Suse). I have used Fedora Core 5. The installation was very easy and I did learn a lot of things however, I have a pretty old computer and Fedora seem to slow down my system. I decided to install Slackware 10.2 a few months back and I think that it is a much better system. Slackware is not as bloated and you learn much more. The installation was pretty tricky but I got through it (I had to install it multiple times).

If you really want to learn Linux, then go with Slackware. Beware, you will get fustrated.
