slackware vs redhat partitons

I usually do my RedHat installs int he follwoing way

/dev/hda1 /boot
/dev/hda2 swap
/dev/hda3 /

And that has worked fine for me, however I wish to install Slackware 8.0 on a 200mhz pentium laptop. I parititoned the disk at first liek i would for RedHat, but the install recognized my intended boot partiton as my linux native. My question is, is two partitons, one as "/" and one as "swap", fine for Slackware 8 install?

yes you can use just the two partitions, however, during the install you have an option to pick your target partitions. take a look at that during install, you should be able to tell slack where you want what.
good luck.

you might want to put your $HOME directory on a seperate partition also...........

alright, i will try installing with just two partitions. Maybe i will try doing a $HOME partiton with future installs as well
