ok so if youve read a couple of my other posts ive had some problems getting X to run w/ my video card. i first using my new card w/ mandrake and it never worked so i moved back over to Slackware 10 and just as i hoped everything worked. however on this installation, on boot up i get a series of "99 99 99 99 99" etc, this goes on for a few lines then stops, i dont knwo whats causing this at all because the last few times installed SW10 everything worked fine except for X, i can boot up with the cd but this problem is annoying because fresh installs wont fix it. as well as the resolutions in the terminal before loading X, i used to get a great resolution and the Tux was in the upper left hand corner but not anymore. if anyone could assist me in that problem that would be great

Well, for the mousewheel, look in your /etc/X11/XF86Config file...see a section that looks like the following and you probably need to add the line with the ZAxisMapping stuff (you can probably leave all the other stuff just as it is in your file, I'm only including the other lines below to help you find the appropriate section).
When you installed Slack, where did you install Lilo
to? It may well be that you put it into hdaX and Mdk's
lilo still sits in the MBR and can't find the distro it's
trying to boot....

yes but i formatted everything so iono....im about to wipe everything out one last time and do it right
I didn't post more of my file than I did for the sole purpose of saving space and confusion (the latter of which obviously didn't work perfectly).
My point in my post was that you should look at what's in your file and just add the ZAxisMapping line...I have heard that that's the only thing you need to add to get most mouse wheels working. I only posted a few other lines just so you would have an idea of where I use it in my file so you could put the ZAxisMapping line in the appropriate place.

Formatting has nothing to do with the MBR.
And if you remove the entire partitioning and
recreate partitions and install Slacks lilo in
Slacks partition rather than the MBR you'll
have the whole same story.
If MDK's lilo is still there that's your problem.
Edit slacks lilo.conf and make lilo reside in the MBR.
Then run lilo.
