Normally, the install instructions are listed with each eyecandy (download offering). Slackware uses lilo for a console login, so I searched kde-look.org for "lilo" and the first result shows:

Slackware neon lilo boot splash 0.1
Code:
Installation:
1. copy the slackboot_neon.bmp to /boot
2. add these lines in /etc/lilo.conf general's options:

bitmap = /boot/slackboot_neon.bmp
bmp-colors = 192,,;245,,
bmp-table = 87p,205p,1,5
bmp-timer = 512p,165p,192,,

3. run lilo & that all ;)

It's customary on the kde-look.org website if you have questions about the download that's offered, to post a comment under that offering. Alot of times the author/developer of the offering will respond.

I don't use KDE, but doing a search I found this:

"Alien Bob" is one of the Slackware devs and he frequents the LQ forum, maybe he'll spot this post and give you some assistance.
