hmmm... should i try another loader? from what i read LOADLIN only works with win9x?

whipermr5 12-28-2004 12:00 AM

First, does LILO work after you've added the lines? You must remember the append lines too.

kleer 12-28-2004 12:09 AM

still does not work

whipermr5 12-28-2004 12:14 AM

Try GRUB. It's better to start linux not from windows 9x.

whipermr5 12-28-2004 12:14 AM

It has many more features, but it's much more complicated. I've never tried it.

kleer 12-28-2004 12:20 AM

i think ill tryout GRUB http://www.geocities.com/epark/linux...w2k-HOWTO.html

kleer 12-28-2004 12:23 AM

when it refers to the "/boot Linux partition" on the above page, is that the root or swap?... says 50MB for /boot .... seems too small to be either... i use 2x RAM (+1024M) for swap and ~7gig for root

whipermr5 12-28-2004 05:44 AM

If you don't have a partition for /boot, it's in /
