Slackware installation & grub

Hi,

I have just a little question, I'll soon install Slackware 13 on the remaining space of my hdd, but I wish to keep my grub and it's settings. Is there any option during the installation process allowing to skip the installation of lilo and manually configure the boot partition later, or should I backup my grub to restore it in it's previous state?
Also, if theyr's no other choice than doing a backup and restoring later, is their any risk of messing up with something more than the /boot point during the installation?

Thanks.

p.s: sorry if my english is a little awkward, i'm not a native speaker.

(Your English is excellent and nothing to apologize for.)

I have Slacked since v. 10. I've never seen an option in the installer to skip LILO, but I've never installed for dual boot because I didn't have to.

I did find this LQ thread. Maybe it will help.

It would be a good idea to back up your grub anyway. There's no such thing as too many backups.

Have fun with Slack, but be careful. Once you Slack, you'll never go back.

Yes - you can skip the installation of lilo during the install. There is an option to skip when it asks where to install lilo. I don't use grub, and when I do a clean install of Slackware, I just skip installing lilo and edit the config that is always on another partition. Then again, I haven't done a clean install since Slackware64 came out. I've been running current ever since.
