Slackware installation


After complete installation when re boot the system I am getting following error messages.

Kernel panic-not syncing: No init found. Try passing init = option to kernel

I have no clue what to do. Please help.
I am a linux newbie

I am a linux newbie

insert your CD1 installer. .. chroot to the /etc directory view your /etc/inittab and look for the "initdefault" field. .. there should be a designated number there symbolizing the level to be loaded upon boot up..

though i am not sure if this will make it to your problem. ..

Did you install lilo during the setup ? If not, do so by booting up CD1 again and go to that option.
