Slackware for Toshiba Satellite

Hi,
I'm looking at getting a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5212. Some of the hardware it has are
Toshiba SATA HD MK3275GSX
Mobile Intel HD Graphics
Atheros AR8152/8158 PCI-E NDIS 6.20 ethernet
Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

It's supposed to use Phoneix BIOS.

Any feedback on how well this hardware is supported by Slackware would be very helpful.

In the past I recall seeing a webpage with supported hardware for Slackware but just don't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance,

Ash.

I know for sure that Intel HD Graphics works fine (got that in a Dell Inspiron 1750), 'far as I know Atheros works and I'm pretty sure Realtek does, too. Probably want to install Slackware 13.37. If it's a 64-bit box, go for it -- what's the worst that can happen, eh?

Hope this helps some.

Slackware for Toshiba Satellite

I just purchased a toshiba satellite laptop model L875-S7208 with Mobile Intel HD Graphics
After loading slackware 13.37 64 bit system, the video crashed while loading the system.
I loaded the older slackware 13.1 64 bit system and the system could be loaded properly.

I did have a similar problem with slackware 13.37 on a pc with nvidia graphics card
when loading X11.

With the Toshiba system I cannot even get to a login to correct any problems.

You need to boot your slack with pure text mode, Nio fancy VGA or any higher resolution which might be offered initially. Pure text (Standard in the selection)
