Slackware change resolution
Hi i just installed slack and i have been having trouble changing my screen resolution from 1280x768 to 1280x1024 using xorgconfig. Everytime I edit it no matter what I choose even the lowest it ends up not starting! Is there a way I can edit xorg.conf by hnad? Like simply changing 1280x768 to 1064?

To answer your questions we need to know what is your graphic card and what driver you are using.
So please send output of following command, typed as root: Code:
lspci -k |
My laptop is a Dell D620
here is my results: Code:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS, 943/940GML and 945GT Express Memory Controller Hub (rev 03) |
UPDATE:
Managed to get it to work thanks. I crossed my fingers and chose one of the intel ones and it worked :) |
I'm happy this be sorted out. For the records I notice though that above you sent output of 'lspci', not 'lspci -k'.
