Slackware 9.0 X-Windows

I have installed Slackware 9.0 three times and every single time I can not get X-windows to work. I have tried 'startx' but it says that it does not exist. Am i missing something.

1. Did you install the X-windows package (x)?

2. What is the exact error message?

RE: NvM

Thanks for helping anyway. I'm gonna slag the Slackware and use RH 9 or Win XP.

Not a problem. I started out on Redhat but after a month I was not learning anything about Linux so I switched to Slackware. This bulletin board it full of friendly helpful people who will give you a hand if and when you switch.

If you wish to use Linux...whatever your reason...and you have no prior experience go for Mandrake, Redhat, etc.

But...if you have a desire to learn what an OS is and capable of...meaning how and why it works...check out Slackware or if you like it raw...try Gentoo.

Best of luck,
