Slackware

I have install the Slackware12.0 Linux. It only having the text mode operation. There is no GUI mode.

What to do for that.......

Run "startx". If you want to boot with a GUI, then edit /etc/inittab, changing your default runlevel from 3, 4 (i.e. edit the file /etc/inittab and change the line "id:3:initdefault: to id:4:initdefault:"). You'll need to edit the file as root.

Also, please use better thread titles in future and search for similar posts, because this has been answered before.

Before you startx, setup your xorg.conf manually, or automatically by using xorgsetup
