Slackware 13.1 adduser will not work NO /usr/bin directory?

/usr/bin: No such file or directory and I cannot run any adduser commands from root of my new install of Slackware 13.1. This is my first time every installing a Linux distro and I am confused as to why I cannot do anything from the root command that I have been reading in Linux forums? Please help.

figured it out myself, it had something to do with the file system i set up at install. I was trying to use ext4 and made seperate partitions for /usr and /home. I did a clean install with just /, and swap and used ext3 and everything worked fine. I will try again the other way when I get more familiar with linux.
