Smile skype and slack linux

I have just installed slackware linux 14.1 on my desktop. I downloaded skype and extracted it, but I am unable to install it (make the executable file to make it work). Can anyone guide me thru the proper steps to produce the right skype module which will allow me to using it???
Thank you.

I'm not sure what you are asking although it seems you just want to know how to make a file executable. If that's it, change to the directory where your skype file resides logged in as root and run: chmod +x ugo skype. Change skype to whatever the actual name of the file. If that's not what your looking for, be more specific as to what you have done and where you downloaded it from and the name of the download file.
