Skinny scroll bars

God help me, I've set up Gnome3 (Fedora 21) in a virtualbox to try to do some development work. Could somebody tell me what idiot designed these skinny-arse scrollbars and how I can fix it?

Hi,

are you saying you want wider scroll bars? Or perhaps that you don't want any scroll bars? Either of these could likely be achieved using a different theme. Are scroll bars something integral to your development work?

Just the scroll bars for anything. Web browser, file manager, pdf reader. I don't mind losing the extra 10 pixels of screen width if it means not getting a headache trying to pinpoint my mouse on these things.

These all likely gtk3 programs, so you can change how they look (including the scroll bars) by changing the gtk3 theme.

Ok. I generally do't use scroll bars since I find it easier to scroll with the key board (eg Shift-PgDn or just PgDn etc.) or with a touchpad (when using a laptop).

The first 2 solutions were out of it because it's not just firefox, it's right across the board.
As per the 3rd suggestion, I changed the GtkScrollbar::slider-width setting in /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-2.0/gtkrc to no effect and the only file in /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-3.0/ is gtk.css which has the one line: /* Adwaita is the default theme of GTK+ 3, this file is not used */
I've also installed tweak-tool but nothing there.
Edit: Tried to change the overall theme, I guess "Appearance' in gnome-tweak is the only place I can find to do it. 'Shell Theme' is disabled and 'GTK+' has only choice of Adwaita or HighContrast even though /use/share/themes has Anaconda and Raleigh listed.

Anyway, thanks for the help, f it, I quit.
