The computer actually boots to the desktop, origianlly ony boot to console Also sound card cs46xx not installed,
I've tried to patch, but fails "./write_images" http://wiki.debian.org/snd-cs46xx
After posting I ran lspci -knn does this mean that the actual modules are loaded?
After searching over a week and not coming up with any leads I burned a new copy of debian squeeze at a slow speed and found that the install goes better.
Another problem was 1 of my memory sticks, when I put second 1 installation failed.
But the problem was neither of these things, sis5595 wasn't detected because the small cable on cdrom was not connected (audio output), so this part is solved now I just have to see if I can get cs-46xx patched.
Changed to not solved
Well it's not solved, iwas looking at dmesg at the time after another reboot it appeared, but I did finally find a thread that shed a little light on the subject. http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=47082
I have found this thread and have used sensors-detect and at the end it says auto load, I select yes, but upon reboot same message.
SIS5595_smbus not detected.
Is this a situation where I need to reconfigure kernel?
