SIOCSIFFLAG error to get wirelless connection on HP-dv6000 w/ Fedora8

So, I have a HP Pavilion dv6000, with "Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI" on wlan0 device. I was trying to get wireless connection ,but I come up with an error named SIOCSIFFLAG.
What should I do? I am very new in Linux.
My router is DLink - wbr2310

blessings,
Paulo

InOp Driver maybe?

I am FAR from an expert but when I got that error with Slackware 12, it was because my wifi driver wasn't correct. Slackware said it supported my card and installed the drive of the same name (bcmwl5) but it still didn't work. I tried fwcutter and ended up using ndiswrapper. I won't retype everything but if you search for user Ace Blackwell then follow the threads, NDisWrapper and 43XX-4318, you will see the good advice i was given that got me along. *Note the wificgraig listing. I had some minor differences but it put me close enough I could figure out the rest.

In short, I would at least trial, Blacklisting your current driver (assuming it was installed by the operating system) and use ndiswrapper to load the windows driver. Also, I didn't have to do anything with my router, just "dhcpcd wlan0" and I got an IP. It maybe different if you have a secure router with WEP activated. I don't know.

Hope this helps.
