where to find the meaning of the symbols used in the grep command
like ^ {} [] $
what that it means?
sometime it comes {1,5}
is that range?

they are part of regular expression syntax, so read up on that through google, for example {1,5} means between 1 and 5 occurrences of the preceeding pattern
