simple lan making me feel the blues

i have two linux boxes. one has two ethernet cards eth0 192.168.0.1 conected to the internet and eth1 with ip = 192.168.0.2 connected to another computer which has eth0 address 192.168.0.3 and a default gateway 192.168.0.2. i set all devices to be trusted. the server with internet connection has ip_forward set to one.
what am i missing. please, please help me as i am so don't know what to do

please forgive me, my problem is that i can't ping between the two linux boxes

What are the results of route and ifconfig, etc...

The problem was with eth1. i swaped the conection between eth0 and eth1. i had no problem pinging enything, but eth1 wasn't able to make internet connection.
