Simple Home LAN has Win2K problems

I am setting up a simple home LAN to learn Linux server admin. SuSW 7.1 is my server, Windoze2K is my first client. I can ping my server from both boxes. I can use a browser from both boxes to display htm files on the server using either IP (192.168.1.100) or domain (kirtland). What I can't do is get Win2K to show the network in My Network Neighborhood.
So when I try to put my htm/php/etc files onto the server from the windows box I can't.
(I use FirstPage as my editor and FTP Commander).
Any ideas? Thanks.
